problem
The existing AMEX SFT India admin dashboard faced significant usability and efficiency challenges that hindered users from effectively managing financial and operational data. The system presented large volumes of complex data without a clear structure, making it difficult for users to quickly interpret key insights and take timely actions. Navigation within the platform was unintuitive, with scattered features and inconsistent UI patterns, leading to increased cognitive load and longer task completion times. Users struggled with inefficient workflows, especially while handling transactions, monitoring KPIs, and managing reports, often requiring multiple steps and manual effort. Additionally, the lack of standardized data visualization and poor hierarchy limited users’ ability to prioritize critical information. These issues collectively impacted productivity, decision-making, and overall user experience.
solution
To address the challenges in the AMEX SFT India dashboard, I implemented a user-centered redesign focused on improving clarity, efficiency, and usability. I restructured the information architecture to create a logical flow and simplified navigation, enabling users to access key features with minimal effort. The dashboard was redesigned to present critical KPIs and financial data through clear visual hierarchies and intuitive data visualizations, allowing users to quickly interpret insights and make informed decisions. Complex workflows, such as transaction tracking and reporting, were streamlined by reducing steps and introducing structured tables, filters, and smart interactions. Additionally, I developed a consistent design system to ensure uniform UI patterns across the platform, improving overall coherence and usability. Through iterative prototyping and stakeholder feedback, the final solution significantly reduced cognitive load, enhanced user efficiency, and delivered a seamless and scalable dashboard experience.
The AMEX SFT India project began with a dashboard that looked powerful on the surface but felt overwhelming in practice. When I first explored it, the data was dense, scattered, and hard to interpret. Users were dealing with large volumes of financial information, yet they struggled to quickly find what actually mattered. In discussions with stakeholders and internal users, I noticed a common frustration—people were spending more time figuring out the system than making decisions.

One interaction stayed with me. A user walked me through how they tracked transactions and generated reports. It involved jumping between multiple sections, applying filters repeatedly, and manually validating data. What should have been a quick insight-driven task turned into a slow, error-prone process. That’s when it became clear that the issue wasn’t just visual—it was about how information was structured and how workflows were designed.
I started by rethinking the foundation of the dashboard. I restructured the information architecture to group related data logically and made navigation more predictable. Then I focused on the dashboard itself—transforming it into a centralized space where users could instantly view key KPIs and financial metrics without digging through layers.
The next step was simplifying complexity. I redesigned data tables to handle large datasets more efficiently, introduced filters that actually felt intuitive, and reduced unnecessary steps in critical workflows like transaction tracking and reporting. At the same time, I built a consistent design system to bring clarity and uniformity across all screens, so users didn’t have to relearn patterns as they moved through the platform.
